Motorola Moto G 4G

The Moto G was already a great phone because of its price / quality ratio. Motorola better yet, giving it 4G and a micro SD memory card slot suddenly removing the only major defects. The Moto G (4G) poses as the new reference entry despite the price increase.
With the Moto G, Motorola gave a big kick in the anthill of mobile telephony. Its range of mid-range smartphones sold at a very aggressive price. A rate that makes it the best quality / price ratio. So many smartphones testing often conclude with this simple phrase: ". A correct phone but the Moto G offers the same performance for much less"
His only fault was a lack of storage capacity and the lack of 4G. Too bad when you consider that the 4G network is quietly off. Motorola has revised its copy, adding a 4G chip and a micro SD slot for this new version of its Moto G: Moto G 4G. For the rest, it does not change, except for the price. So you still have a very good screen, a quadruple heart performance processor, camera 5 million pixels and the latest version of Android 4.4.3 KitKat. But it is a bit more expensive.

The Motorola Razr 4G is marketed in France at 200 euro price around naked. But it is already, for example in Orange, just 1 euro with a package. This is a small increase compared to 170 euros in the previous version, which continues his career and that already from 155 euros (nu). Motorola also recently introduced another smartphone, the Moto E, 120 euros.
Design and Display

Although it now includes a 4G chip, the Moto G remains outwardly unchanged. We find the shell of the old Moto G, still comfortable in the hand thanks to its curved back that fits perfectly in the palm. Its very reasonable size of 4.5 inches, making it easy to handle. No thumb tendinitis to fear.
The plastic back cover is interchangeable with a variety of colors available, as well as strengthened hulls and cases protect the screen. The Moto G is now also available in white, but not in all markets.

Under the removable cap, there is a micro SD card reader. The frozen storage capacity of the first version of the Moto G, only available in 8GB and 16GB, was a handicap. Motorola Moto G offers 4G with 8GB of storage, but with the possibility of adding a 32GB micro SD card. On the new model, storage is no longer a problem.
The 4.5 inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which gives a very good density of 326 pixels per inch. Add to this high brightness, accuracy, clarity, bright colors and good viewing angles and the Moto G 4G maintains one of the best screens among smartphones in this price range.
Android system KitKat

The first Moto G, launched last year, had Android 4.3 Jelly Bean but had been upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in January. 4G release also has KitKat as standard, with new features like the ability to view videos and games in full screen without the annoying presence of the navigation buttons. Unlike most manufacturers who likes to put their stamp on Android, Motorola has little changed the system interface. Recall that Motorola is / was an entity of Google. Lenovo has redeemed, and the process is still ongoing. In fact, it is very close to the raw version of Android. If you've used an Android smartphone before getting started and you will have nothing new to learn. The Moto G 4G still adds some elements such as Motorola Assist application, which automatically performs certain tasks like putting the phone into silent mode when a meeting was scheduled.

Performance and autonomy

The Moto G 4G has the same Snapdragon 400 processor as the previous version. This is a model Quad 1.2 GHz, with 1 GB of RAM. The performance delivered are sufficient for basic use. The Moto G 4G makes it a point of honor to properly run games like "Asphalt 8", even if the number of frames per second fall sometimes drastically. Simpler games like "Cut the Rope" are more in line with its capabilities.

Navigation is shown quite fast and fluid, thanks in part to some software settings made by Motorola, to optimize the tasks in relation to material resources. Whatever the application, the Moto G 4G responded.

This is a 2070 mAh battery that powers the Motorola Razr 4G, the same as in the first version. This poses a slight concern, knowing that 4G requires more energy than 3G. After looping YouTube videos via 4G connection for an hour and a half, autonomy has fallen to 74%, which is average. The addition of 4G does not seem to have a massive impact on autonomy.

In mixed use, being careful to cut WiFi and GPS when they are unnecessary, the Moto G 4G holds a day.
Camera
The back of the Moto G 4G features a photo sensor 5 million pixels, also unchanged from the first version. The results given are poor in general. The test shots are often underexposed and photos taken with the HDR mode often show too much contrast and appearance far from natural. In good light conditions, the pictures are correct, nothing more. The Moto G 4G is not the smartphone to choose for his photographic abilities. The interface of the device, at least, is extremely easy to use. There are a few settings available but usually we simply point the camera at the subject and tap the screen to shoot.
With correct features and aggressive price remains despite the passage of 170 to 200 euros, the Moto G 4G proves, like its predecessor, an excellent deal. He did better than most of its entry-level competitors. The addition of 4G and the possibility of increasing the storage capacity correct two defects of the first version of the Moto G. If you have nothing to do with 4G and if 8 or 16 GB is enough for you, the Moto G first name thus becomes even a better deal.
